Speaking to Kawowo Sports from Addis Ababa on Monday, the Ugandan international striker revealed;
“I believe I settle quickly at St George and help the club win every domestic accolade and perform well on the continent.“
The 26 year old forward, who had a brief stint for his parent Uganda Premier side, KCC from Tanzanian side, Azam F.C joins fellow countrymen, Robert Odongkara and Isaac Isinde at the Addis Ababa based team.
St George officially becomes Brian Umony’s 9th club in 12 years.
He started his career with regional sides Nakawa United and Naguru Avis before he secured a dream move to KCC in 2007.
In 2009/10 season, Brian Umony featured for South African giants, Super Sport before switching to the University of Pretoria the following season.
He had a brief spell at American side, Portland Timbers (loan) before he moved to Becamex Binh Duong in Vietnam from where he returned to Tanzania in 2013, winning the Tanzanian premier league.
Brian Umony returned ‘home’ to KCC at the onset of the 2014/15 and featured in most games for KCC in the domestic league (first round).
He also played in the 2014 Kagame Clubs’ cup where he top scored with 5 goals.
On life in Addis Ababa, Umony hopes for the best;
“The weather is good and the fact that there are 2 other Ugandans at my team is a great advantage for quick settling at the team.“
One of Brian Umony’s best attributes as a forward is the awesome positional sense and that quick leap on reaction that has often left many defenders grounded.
