The University of Pretoria have announced the signing of former Bidvest Wits and Ethiopian international Getaneh Kebede.
Getaneh Kebede was deemed surplus to requirements at the Clever Boys and has been linked with a number of clubs including Bloemfontein Celtic and Mpumalanga Black Aces.
Wits’ quota of foreign internationals is already at its maximum of five and Getaneh Kebede had no place at the club.
The 23-year-old joined Wits in July 2013, on the back of an impressive season with Ethiopian side Dedebit Football Club in which he helped them win the Ethiopian Premier League.
Getaneh Kebede was the top scorer in that league that season, but since his switch to Wits he has struggled, scoring just nine goals in 33 appearances in his two seasons at the club.
Tuks have also signed Lennox Bacela from Orlando Pirates, Kabelo Lichaba and Vukile Mngqibisa from Polokwane City, Thabiso Nkoana from SuperSport United, Sibusiso Mthethwa from Free State Stars, Williem Mwendihanga from AmaZulu and Sphamandla Dlamini from the SAB league.
