The evening of Wednesday 18th November will mark another major historical milestone at Ethiopian Airlines (EAL), when they will be showing the world a fully women operated flight from their home base airport of Addis Ababa to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi and return.
This EAL flight will be fully handled by women. On the ground this includes baggage handling, Maintenance & Engineering, load control, flight planning, cargo handling, ramp
coordination etc. Onboard the flight, it will be operated by a female captain and co-pilot, female cabin crew and female flight technicians etc.
EAL dedicated attitude and display to equal engagement and equal treatment in all aspects of life will mean a significant increase in global Economic growth. Ethiopian Airlines is inviting the world to watch this historical flight.
EAL is a former World Airline Awards winner, and is currently ranked as a 3-Star Airline. With the fleet revitalization and renewal program, EAL has targeted achieving the 4-Star Airline rating in the near future.

ET Lucies to control the skies on November 19, 2015
The daughters of Lucy will control the skies on November 19, 2015, flying an all women operated flight from Addis Ababa to Bangkok. This historic flight is aimed at crystallizing Ethiopian corporate conviction of “Women Empowerment for a Sustainable Growth” on the eve of our 70th year Anniversary.
Lucy, the world’s oldest hominid fossils, has come to verify that Ethiopia is not only a country of diverse cultures and ancient civilization, but also a country where humanity began, a country that holds the key of understanding human ancestry.
Today, ET Lucies of the sky will operate the flight fully on ground and in the sky from flight deck crew members and Cabin Operations to Airport Operations; Flight Dispatcher; Load Controller; Ramp Operations; Baggage Handling; Flight Planning; Cargo Handling; On-board logistics; Aviation Safety and Security; Ticket Offices; Catering; Air Traffic Controllers and Global Call Center. Ethiopian senior female executives will grace the event on-board the flight.
