Muscat: Organizing Committee of Omani Products Exhibition (Opex) held a coordination meeting about Opex 2016 with business owners on Tuesday at Waljat College of Applied Sciences in the Knowledge Oasis Muscat.
This was on the back of the upcoming Omani Products Exhibition (Opex 2016) which will take place from April 11 to 14, 2016 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Organized by a committee formed by Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE), Public Authority for Investment Promotion and Export Development (Ithraa), and Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), the Omani Products Exhibition in Ethiopia aspires to further promote Omani products and increase trade relations with Ethiopia.
The meeting discussed the latest updates of the preparations for the exhibition and owners of companies and industrialists were informed with the participation process, the advantages and the provided support. By participating in Opex 2016, the companies will eventually support the integrated efforts of PEIE, Ithraa and OCCI to promote the Omani products and advance their exports.
The committee noted that Africa in general and Ethiopia in particular were selected to be the next destination of Opex due to its promising and encouraging market as significant opportunities are available for investors in Ethiopia. The committee aspires to witness positive outcomes of this exhibition by achieving the desired objectives of entering the African market.
The Omani Products Exhibition to be held in Addis Ababa will offer visitors the opportunity to be acquainted with the Omani products under one platform. The event will offer a great opportunity for b2b meetings and interactions between the Omani industrialists and their Ethiopian counterparts.
It should be noted that the most recent Opex event was held in Jeddah in 2015 where around 120 companies showcased their products and 3000 visitors to the exhibition were briefed on the locally manufactured products. Opex events were also held in Riyadh, KSA in 2012; Dohar, Qatar in 2013; and Dubai, UAE in 2014.
