LG Electronics’ Dream Team participated in the Korean giant’s CSR activities in Ethiopia, showcasing their CSR programs that support the communities’ prosperity and enrich their life, from Nov. 30 to Dec. 3.
Deuk-Soo Ahn, president of LG Electronics Saudi Arabia, who introduced the company’s CSR programs in Ethiopia for the first time, expressed his gratitude to Choi Yong-Geun, GM of LG Electronics Ethiopia, for enabling its participation.
On the first day, the team visited Addis Berhan School in Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia. This is the school, which was attended by the descendants of Korean War Veterans.
The team was divided into three groups; the first one took the task of cleaning the school library and the second one served lunch to kids, while the third group cleaned the dishes after lunch. Such a contribution left the students undisturbed and they continued to pursue their studies.
On the second day the team toured the LG Electronics Hope Village, a CSR activity that supports the Ethiopian people to become self-reliant.
With no roads leading to the villages and no drinking water for inhabitants and livestock, the launch of LG Electronics Hope Community Project created a new life in the area since it offered many solutions to create a healthier life.
On the morning of the third day, the team took part in the first anniversary of LG KOICA TVET College, the fruitful cooperation between LG Electronics and KOICA.
Choi Yong-Geun, GM of LG Electronics Ethiopia, praised the Ethiopian staff in LG Electronics Saudi Arabia and appreciated the good efforts made to support the students. In addition, the team delivered the Dream and Hope program to all students through its one-day mentor activity.
In the afternoon, the team was involved in the Saudi Park program dedicated for tree plantation in the school garden.
