If you’ve always wanted to try Ethiopian food and learn more about the culture of the East African country, you’ll have your chance Saturday, April 23, at Lampeter United Methodist Church, 1101 Village Road, 1101 Village Rd, Lancaster, PA 17602.

A buffet-style Ethiopian meal is being served at three sittings that night: You can choose to eat at 5, 6 or 7 p.m.

The meal is being prepared by a local Ethiopian family.

The buffet-style Ethiopian meal includes doro wat (chicken and egg), siga wat (beef cubes), kik (yellow split peas), mesir (red lentils), atkilt (carrot, potato and cabbage) and injera (Ethiopian flatbread used to scoop up and eat these dishes).

The suggested donation for the meal is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 years old and younger.

The fundraiser proceeds will go to the church’s general outreach fund.

A limited number of take-out meals will be available; call the church at 464-4161 to reserve one.
