A petition to ask the White House (i.e., President Barack Obama, the 44th President of the United States of America) to break the silence and act on stopping the wide-range of human rights crackdown in Ethiopia, especially in Amhara and Oromia regions of the country.

PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION BY SIGNING HERE

Dear President Obama,

Currently the largest recipient of US tax payers’ dollars and minority regime in Ethiopia officially declared war against its own people. The TPLF led regime who’s controlling every sectors of the government is conducting genocide against the two most populous ethnic groups in Ethiopia. Recently the anti-TPLF led government protests steadily spreads through out Ethiopia’s Oromia and Amhara regions, as usual the country’s well trained security forces used lethal force and massacred thousands of peaceful Amhara and Oromo protesters. The United Nation’s ranking officials and other human rights groups called an international investigation for the mass murder; however, the government rejected the investigation.

We respectfully urge you to STOP the genocide in Ethiopia.

It is not genocide. The gov’t is not trying to wipe out all Amhara. It is being a little heavy-handed, but this is not genocide. The EPRDF should find better ways of handling protests.

The gov’t has also stopped expanding into Oromia.

Here is the definition of a genocide:
the deliberate killing of a large group of people, especially those of a particular ethnic group or nation.

we all agree that Amhara and Oromos have been targeted – that meets the requirement of a particular ethnic group.

To the least, thousands of unarmed people have been killed – that meets the required large number to say it is a genocide.

It is a GENOCIDE and we will make sure history gets it right.

With out great governance establishment it is difficult to think and dream democracy and its components like freedom of movement, human right, etc. The developed countries like USA likely have possessed favorable conditions. USA try to help our people honestly and appropriately as possible!

The people of Ethiopia are not asking any foreign power to replace their struggle for freedom and human dignity . Absolutely not! What they are demanding is ” stop supporting the politics of genocide !!” In other words, what the people are saying is that supporting the brutal regime cannot be interpreted otherwise , but being part a political crime against humanity.
I do not think the Ethiopian of people are expected to beg the US government . They deserve to strongly demand for action , not the very overused diplomatic expression of “we are concerned ” .
